Hi, I'm Steve.

I am a Melbourne-based DJ, a music instructor, and the person behind niceman.

For years, my focus has been squarely on DJing and teaching others how to get behind the decks.

My absolute favorite part of the job has always been watching someone go from "I don't think I can do this"
to making their first transition and grinning like a kid.

That is actually how this specific wedding experience started.

The Origin

I was teaching a student who wanted to learn enough to play a short, surprise set at his own wedding. When his booked DJ suddenly pulled out, I stepped in. I ran the music for the night, and I stood a step away when it was his turn to play.

He ended up playing for a full hour. The room completely lost it when they realised it was him up there. It was the best moment of the night, and I decided I wanted to help other couples create that exact same feeling.

The Philosophy

The wedding industry can feel pretty intense, which is why I keep things simple.

The name niceman is the whole promise: I am calm, reliable, and genuinely easy to work with.

Whether I am running your dancefloor from start to finish, or standing in your corner while you surprise your guests with your own set, my job is to make sure the music is brilliant and you feel completely supported.
